This Lightweight British Alpaca Duvet is individually handmade in Devon using 100% British alpaca wool. With a 200gsm fill and a breathable 260 thread count cotton casing, it offers a light, airy feel designed for warm sleepers and summer conditions.
Alpaca fibres are formed into soft, lofty layers before being carefully stitched into our bespoke cotton casing. This process creates a duvet that drapes smoothly over the body while allowing heat and moisture to disperse naturally throughout the night.
Alpaca is valued for its softness, lightness and natural thermal balance. It provides gentle insulation without weight, adapting to changes in body temperature. With a tog performance of approximately 3–6, this duvet is well suited to warmer months or year-round use for those who prefer a lighter covering.

Yes. All alpaca wool used is British and responsibly shorn. It is cleaned without harsh chemicals and fully traceable. The cotton casing supports responsible cotton farming through the Better Cotton Initiative.

Regular airing will keep the fibres fresh. When washing is required, use a 30°C wool cycle or hand wash with a wool-safe detergent. Gently spin, reshape while damp and air dry. Avoid tumble drying and dry cleaning.

Dispatch Information:
Dispatch Days: Our dispatch days are Monday – Friday, excluding Bank Holidays, and deliveries are normally made on working days.
Dispatch Timing: We aim to dispatch orders on the same day if ordered before 12:30pm (Mon- Fri) and use a DPD Next (working) Day delivery service*. However, as each of our duvets, pillows and mattress toppers is individually handcrafted by our seamstresses in Devon, please bear in mind that during peak or busy periods, there may be a slight delay in the dispatch of your order.
*Please note: There are some areas within the UK where the actual delivery time will take longer (usually 2 - 3 days from dispatch). These include Northern Ireland, Scottish Islands, Scottish Highlands, Isle of Man, Isles of Scilly, Shetland and Channel Islands.
Bespoke Products: Bespoke products usually take no more than 2 weeks but timings will be given at the time of ordering.
Should the need arise, we reserve the right to select our carriers and /or third-party delivery services at our discretion to ensure timely and secure delivery of our products. This policy helps us maintain our commitment to service quality and efficiency.
Our Christmas Opening Hours:
As we all embrace the joy of the festive season, our team at Devon Duvets will also be taking a little time to rest, recharge, and enjoy precious moments with their families. We will be closed from 24 December to 28 December 2025 (inclusive), so our last day for pre-Christmas dispatches will be 23 December 2025.
A small Devon Duvets team will be available to respond to enquiries by telephone and email on Monday 29 and Tuesday 30 December, with a limited dispatch service. We will then be closed from 31 December 2025 to 4 January 2026 (inclusive), returning on Monday 5 January 2026, refreshed and ready to begin handcrafting our luxurious duvets, toppers and pillows once again.
