At Devon Duvets, we have always believed that our duvets, pillows and mattress toppers should be about more than simply making up a bed.

Why the materials close to us matter
We spend many hours each night close to our bedding, and that is why the materials matter.
At Devon Duvets, we choose natural fibres because we believe they create a more comfortable and reassuring sleep environment.
Our wool bedding is handcrafted using traceable British wool and 100% premium cotton. Wool is naturally breathable, temperature-regulating and able to absorb and release moisture, helping the bed feel more balanced through the night.
Respecting the natural qualities already within the fibre
We do not bleach or chemically treat the wool used inside our duvets, pillows and mattress toppers because we believe wool already has remarkable natural qualities of its own.
For us, kindness to the body means choosing materials that are natural, breathable and comfortable to sleep with.
It means letting wool be wool.
Choosing bedding with a longer view
Kindness also asks us to think beyond ourselves.
Every product has a story. Every material comes from somewhere. Every purchase supports a way of making.
Wool is a renewable natural fibre. It grows on sheep as part of the rhythm of farming and flock care. Cotton is a plant-based fibre, familiar and breathable. Both wool and cotton are biodegradable under the right conditions.
Responsible making is also about how materials are sourced, how they are prepared, how products are made and whether they are made to be used and loved for years.
Natural, useful and carefully made
At Devon Duvets, we make our bedding individually in our Devon workshop. We use traceable British wool, work with British processors and mills, carefully source our cotton and make products intended to be lived with rather than quickly replaced.
Every wool duvet begins with a sheep
That is something we never want to forget.
The wool we use comes from sheep that are shorn as part of normal flock care and welfare. We do not use lamb fleeces, winter-shorn fleeces or wool that is a by-product of the slaughterhouse.
We believe wool should be valued properly, not treated as an anonymous filling, but respected as a natural fibre with a source, a purpose and a story.
By choosing traceable British wool, we are also supporting British farmers and the wider network of people involved in the wool journey, from farms to processors, mills, makers and our Devon workshop.
Kindness to the natural world includes the animals, the land and the people who care for them.
The hands behind the bedding
Our duvets, pillows and mattress toppers are individually handcrafted in Devon by our skilled seamstresses. They are not mass-produced in the distant, anonymous way that so many products are today.
We believe that how something is made affects how it feels. We also believe that the people who make it should be valued, respected and treated with care.
