Why choose a pillow made from natural materials?
Pillows made from natural materials are breathable, whereas synthetic pillows can trap heat, creating a humid sleeping environment around your head. This trapped heat and humidity builds up in synthetic pillows - and also in pillows filled with feathers - and creates the ideal environment for dust mites to thrive. Wool or alpaca fibres, however, make an excellent filling for pillows, as both are breathable, temperature regulating and moisture wicking, helping create a more balanced sleep environment, and one that is resistant to dust mites.
For our wool pillows, we use traceable 100% British wool that is certified by British Wool and comes from local farmers we have known for many years. For our alpaca pillows, we use 100% British alpaca that comes from farms approved by the British Alpaca Society. Our wool and alpaca is washed in traditional British mills, without the use of chemicals, so it stays as natural as nature intended. Each one of our pillows is individually handcrafted by experienced seamstresses in our Devon workshops and we offer a choice of different pillow styles.
