Devon Duvets wool duvets are handcrafted using only British Wool and 100% soft cotton. All of our duvets are handcrafted by professional seamstresses in our own workshops and each one is made individually. This combined with the certified 100% British wool and our soft 260 threadcount 100% cotton, both produced by mills uniquely to Devon Duvets own specifications, results in a luxurious duvet with a light loftiness and wonderful drape.
Our wool has not been bleached or chemically treated and we use only wool inside of the duvet - there are no glues or aritificial fibres, materials or bonding agents. The wool is lightly needled into one large sheet, secured by stitching all the way around under the bindings and only needs a few lines of stiching to secure the fabric to the wool, this technique gives our duvets a superb drape that gently embraces your body with wool.
The unique natural properties of wool resist dust mites and can help to relieve the symptoms of allergies or asthma. Wool is also naturally breathable, helping to keep warm in the Winter and cool in the Summer, creating a sleeping environment unique to each person. This makes wool duvets a perfect solution for partners sleeping under one duvet with differing body temperatures.
Easy to care for, simply refresh by airing - wool is naturally anti-bacterial and refreshes itself with airing. For a more thorough clean, you can machine wash on a wool setting using a wool care detergent, spin out any excess water and air dry.
Both Summer (Lightweight) and Spring/Autumn (Medium Weight) weight wool duvets are available – you can even buy one of each and fasten them together using the discreet fabric ties to make a cosy, Winter weight wool duvet.

As an indication, we can provide the following guidelines for our wool duvets
Summer Weight (Lightweight) 300gsm* (Approximate TOG Equivalent 4 - 7)
Spring/Autumn Weight (Medium Weight) 600gsm* (Approximate TOG Equivalent 8 - 14)

Dispatch Information:
Dispatch Days: Our dispatch days are Monday – Friday, excluding Bank Holidays, and deliveries are normally made on working days.
Dispatch Timing: We aim to dispatch orders on the same day if ordered before 12:30pm (Mon- Fri). However, as each of our duvets, pillows and mattress toppers is individually handcrafted by our seamstresses in Devon, please bear in mind that during peak or busy periods, there may be a slight delay in the dispatch of your order.
Bespoke Products: Bespoke products usually take no more than 2 weeks but timings will be given at the time of ordering.

Please note that the care instructions vary, depending on your duvet type. Please be sure to use the correct instructions for your duvet.
Wool and alpaca fibres have a natural resistance to dust mites and bacteria, so your wool/alpaca duvet doesn’t need frequent washing. We recommend regular airing and this helps to keep the wool/alpaca nice and fresh. This can be done outside (if the weather is dry), or draped over a clothes airer, near an open window so that air can get right round your duvet.
Should a deeper clean be required, our wool and our alpaca duvets are machine washable - and it helps to think of them as a big woolly jumper! Machine wash in a large capacity machine (so the duvet has plenty of room to move around inside) on a 30 degrees wool cycle, and using a detergent that is specifically created for wool. A gentle spin to remove excess water and then remove immediately from the machine, reshape and thoroughly air dry. Do not tumble dry. We do not recommend dry cleaning as this process uses chemicals. If you need to store your duvet at any point, it is best to roll it up and place in the cotton bag it arrived in. Make sure it is stored in a dry place, away from humidity and damp. We would recommend re-airing before you use it again.
Your Botanic duvet is made from a 100% plant based fibres containing TENCEL™Lyocell, derived from sustainable wood sources. These fibres have a resistance to dust mites and so your Botanic duvet does not require frequent washing. We do, however, recommend regular airing as this helps to keep your Botanic duvet fresh. This is best done outside if the weather is dry, or inside over an airer near an open window if the weather is damp.
For a deeper clean, your Botanic duvet can be machine washed in a large capacity machine, on a 30 degrees delicates cycle and using a gentle detergent (it is best to avoid 'biological' detergents as these can be harsh). A gentle spin to remove excess water and then remove immediately from the machine, reshape and air dry. Our Botanic duvets can be tumble dried on the lowest setting and we recommend reshaping during this process. We do not recommend dry cleaning, due to the chemicals used in this process.
For storing, roll up and place in the cotton bag it arrived in, ensuring it is stored in a dry place away from humidity and damp. Re-air before using again.
