Our wool mattress protectors are practical and comfortable
For us, it wasn’t enough just to craft something that sat on top of your mattress, we wanted it to have an element of comfort to add extra cosiness to your sleep environment. So, we created a protector that would have a gentle cushioning effect too.
How we make our mattress protectors
Individually handcrafted by our team of professional seamstresses, our Quilted Wool Mattress Protector contains 300gsm (grams per square metre) of traceable 100% British wool, encased in a quilted 260 thread count cotton casing. The wool inside is a layer and not loose wool and it is stitched into the casing, so can’t move around inside, ensuring an even distribution of filling throughout the protector. A 100% cotton elasticated skirt (35cm deep) helps to hold the protector in place over your mattress.
We only use traceable 100% British wool in our mattress protectors
We are committed to supporting British farmers, so the wool we have used in our protector is the same that we use for all our wool filled bedding products. Gathered from British flocks in Devon and the Southwest, we pay an ‘above market value’ price for our wool, which is certified by British Wool as traceable from farm to mattress protector. Our wool is cleaned and prepared in British mills without the use of chemicals to retain its wonderful natural properties and be as eco-friendly as possible.
We only use cotton that’s certified by Better Cotton
Better Cotton is a global initiative that supports, encourages and promotes better environmentally friendly and socio-economic cotton farming practices. We are committed to responsible sourcing, and so are proud that the cotton fabric that we use for our mattress protectors is made from cotton that is certified by Better Cotton.
