Product Information

Individually handcrafted in Devon, using a layer of fully traceable 100% British wool, encased in a luxurious quilted 260 thread count cotton casing, our mattress protector will add a layer of protection to help lengthen the life of your mattress. Each protector contains 300gsm (grams per square metre) of wool, gathered from specially selected British flocks. An elasticated cotton skirt (35cm deep) helps to hold the protector in place.

We only use traceable 100% British wool from farmers in Devon and the South West - and our wool is certified by British Wool.
Our wool is washed in British mills, without the use of chemicals.
The quilted 100% cotton casing is made from cotton fibres that are certified by Better Cotton.
Each mattress protector is individually handcrafted by our seamstresses in our Devon workshops.
Our mattress protectors come in standard UK sizes but we can also make bespoke sizes - just let us know your requirements and we'll check with our seamstresses.

Easy Care: Air regularly to help keep the wool fresh. If a deeper clean is required, it can be machine washed in a large capacity machine, using a 30 degrees wool cycle and a detergent specifically created for wool. Gentle spin, then remove immediately from the machine and reshape. Do not leave sitting in water in the machine. Air dry, reshaping one or twice whilst drying. Do not tumble dry. Do not dry-clean.

Dispatch Information:

Dispatch Days: Our dispatch days are Monday – Friday, excluding Bank Holidays, and deliveries are normally made on working days.

Dispatch Timing: We aim to dispatch orders on the same day if ordered before 12:30pm (Mon- Fri) and use a DPD Next (working) Day delivery service*. However, as each of our duvets, pillows and mattress toppers is individually handcrafted by our seamstresses in Devon, please bear in mind that during peak or busy periods, there may be a slight delay in the dispatch of your order.

*Please note: There are some areas within the UK where the actual delivery time will take longer (usually 2 - 3 days from dispatch). These include Northern Ireland, Scottish Islands, Scottish Highlands, Isle of Man, Isles of Scilly, Shetland and Channel Islands.

Bespoke Products: Bespoke products usually take no more than 2 weeks but timings will be given at the time of ordering.

Should the need arise, we reserve the right to select our carriers and /or third-party delivery services at our discretion to ensure timely and secure delivery of our products. This policy helps us maintain our commitment to service quality and efficiency.

Our Christmas Opening Hours:

As we all embrace the joy of the festive season, our team at Devon Duvets will also be taking a little time to rest, recharge, and enjoy precious moments with their families. We will be closed from 24 December to 28 December 2025 (inclusive), so our last day for pre-Christmas dispatches will be 23 December 2025.

A small Devon Duvets team will be available to respond to enquiries by telephone and email on Monday 29 and Tuesday 30 December, with a limited dispatch service. We will then be closed from 31 December 2025 to 4 January 2026 (inclusive), returning on Monday 5 January 2026, refreshed and ready to begin handcrafting our luxurious duvets, toppers and pillows once again.

Care Information

Wool is naturally resistant to dust mites and micro bacteria and so is more hygienic than many other types of soft bedding. We recommend regular airing to help keep the wool nice and fresh. This can be done outside (if the weather is dry) or draped over a clothes airer near an open window, to allow air to get right round the protector.

If a deeper clean is required, our quilted mattress protectors can be washed on a 30 degrees wool cycle and using a detergent that is specifically created for wool. A gentle spin to remove excess water and then remove immediately from the machine, reshape and thoroughly air dry before replacing on your bed. We would recommend reshaping the protector a couple of times during the air drying process. Do not tumble dry. We do not recommend dry cleaning, due to the chemicals used during the process.

Our Quilted Cotton Mattress Protectors are filled with a layer of British wool. Each protector has a plain cotton 'skirt' that is elasticated to fit around mattresses up to a depth of 35cm. Currently available in standard UK bed sizes, we are also able to make bespoke sizes on request.
