Not all wool duvets are created equal...

Not getting a good night’s sleep is debilitating and if sustained over a long period can affect your health - and ultimately your family life, work and leisure time. Your brain uses the time you are asleep to re-wire itself and set down memories, and the rest of your body gets to work on repairing any damage done during the day.

So, making sure that you get your 7-8 hours of restful sleep is worth investing in. A big factor in that is having the right sort of duvet to help you achieve it. There are all kinds of duvets out there, natural and synthetic, widely available at retailers – and even at supermarkets – but our award-winning Certified 100% British wool duvets are regularly acknowledged by our customers to be the best duvets they’ve ever had. We’ve also topped the list in publications such as The Independent and Evening Standard.

Wool is an amazing product; it’s naturally breathable and temperature regulating, keeping you warm when it’s cold, and vice versa. It also resists dust mites, so helps to alleviate the symptoms of allergies and asthma.

You’ll find other wool duvets out there and some will be cheaper, but we’re not prepared to compromise by producing budget ranges or using anything other than the most luxurious wool, because your sleep is important to us.

Here’s what makes ours stand out from the crowd…

Firstly, we only ever use premium grade 100% British wool, that’s been responsibly and ethically sourced – and is fully traceable. We know the farmers who supply our wool and we’ve chosen them because they are committed to the highest standards of animal husbandry and only shear at those times when the sheep naturally need shearing in Spring and Summer.

As a result of this, we’re very proud to be the first bedding company in the UK to achieve accreditation from British Wool. Only companies that can prove that 100% of their wool is British are given this award and are allowed to use the 100% British Wool Mark. In other words, claiming to use British wool isn’t enough if it isn’t backed by accreditation from an organisation that consumers trust worldwide.

Our wool is cleaned and needled in British mills, without the use of chemicals or bleach so that we can maintain our commitment to being as environmentally friendly as possible.

These fluffy wool layers are then encased in beautifully soft 260 thread count 100% natural cotton, that’s been produced under the Better Cotton Initiative, an organisation that promotes better environmentally and socio-economic farming practices.

Each and every one of our duvets are individually hand crafted by our expert seamstresses at our Devon workshops. Every care is taken to stitch our wool duvets to ensure the wool does not clump inside the casing, avoiding the need for shaking to even out the filling. Everything we do is to ensure that when you are tucked up in bed you are wrapped in comfort, from head to toe.

Helping the environment is a big factor for us. We try to minimise our packaging by ensuring, wherever possible, that it is biodegradable and won’t end up in landfill. In fact, because our duvets are also naturally biodegradable, you can be confident that in buying our product you won’t be adding to landfill when it’s time to renew your duvet a few years down the line.

Our Certified 100% British wool range also includes pillows and mattress toppers - all of which carry the 100% British Wool Mark.

We believe in our products and our team who make them, and this is reflected in our Devon Duvets 5 Year Guarantee
