Our Story

  1. Why we are proud to be a second-generation family run British business

When our owners, Dick and Pauline Beijen, founded Devon Duvets, they were living on a smallholding on Dartmoor, having given up their busy international careers to lead a more sustainable lifestyle.

  2. Tucked up and away at Dittisham Hideaway with Devon Duvets

Dittisham Hideaway is the latest venture from hotelier and entrepreneur, Peter de Savary and his wife Lana. The collection of Treehouses, five luxury Shepherds Huts and an original, but fully renovated, 1956 American Airstream, is tucked away in magical wooded valley with meadows and a stream, in the heart of the South Devon countryside. Perfect for couples or families, Dittisham Hideaway is also dog friendly.

  3. How Devon Duvets featured on UK wide radio for World Sleep Day

st Friday, 18th March, was World Sleep Day. The focus for this annual event is the importance of sleep for our health and wellbeing. Our founders and owners, Dick and Pauline Beijen were approached by a number of UK radio stations, from Scotland to Cornwall, and as far as the Channel Islands, to talk about sleep and how to create the best environment to help achieve a great sleep when you tuck yourself up each night. They were also featured on Sky News Radio.

  4. The care that goes into handcrafting our 100% British wool duvets

We’d like to take you behind the scenes at Devon Duvets to give you a glimpse of the love and care that goes into each step of handcrafting our award-winning certified 100% British wool duvets.

  5. Why we love Devon here at Devon Duvets!

We know how lucky we are to be based in Devon! When our founders, Dick and Pauline, left their busy international careers 12 years ago, they decided to settle on Dartmoor because they loved the area and wanted to enjoy all its natural beauty and the outdoor lifestyle.

  6. The Story of Devon Duvets is back on TV

We’re delighted that the programme telling the story of Devon Duvets is back on TV and being aired several times over the coming days! It all began in 2010, when Dick and Pauline Beijen left their busy international careers behind and bought a smallholding on Dartmoor. Keen to live a more sustainable, self-supporting lifestyle, they were soon crafting natural products to sell, and were discussing the possibility of making wool filled duvets with other local farmers.

  7. How Americans started to hear all about Devon Duvets

We’ve been curious as to why, just recently, and all of a sudden we’ve started to get a lot more enquiries about our certified 100% British wool duvets from across the pond in the United States. At first, we thought our customers had friends or family in the USA and were spreading the word… however it turned out to be something entirely different!

  8. New Product - Mattress Protector at Devon Duvets

A mattress protector is an item of removable bedding that sits on top of your mattress. It provides a layer of protection for the mattress in case of accidents or spills - and it’s worth bearing in mind that some mattress warranties are voided should the mattress become stained. The other benefit is that a mattress protector can help those that suffer from allergies and, in particular, those susceptible to allergens caused by dust mites.
